Great Gatsby Wedding – Cheryl & Stephen

Great Gatsby Wedding – Cheryl & Stephen

I am not even sure where to start when talking about this couple. Cheryl & Stephen have a heart of gold and are the most giving people I have ever met. Cheryl is also a dream because she is one of the most organized brides I have ever had–I mean she made ME a binder, couldn’t have made this OCD wedding planner happier! Cheryl & Stephen were our first Create Studio couple. They used all the vendors housed in the Create Studio so this gave us a unique collaboration experience with our creative partners because often we would all be together and easily could communicate about them, ideas, and design plans.

Cheryl dreamed of having a great gatsby/1920’s themed affair but struggled with how to make it work at the venue they were using. We came up with the idea of making the reception more of a speakeasy/prohibition era feel. Guests LOVED all the fun props, signs, and photo booth with a jail background to make this come to life. Being her wedding planner, it was our job to not only run the day but we helped Cheryl with sourcing items, coming up with ideas & collaborating with CeCe Designs on bringing this theme to life. Cheryl & Stephen, it was our honor to be part of your day & lead your vendor team. We are blessed & lucky to know you and now call you friends.

Romantic Birmingham Wedding – Jennifer & Patrick

Romantic Birmingham Wedding – Jennifer & Patrick

Jennifer & Patrick

Jen & Pat were one of my favorite couples of 2016. Jen was living in Michigan, Patrick was working overseas for most of their engagement and they were planning to marry in Birmingham, Alabama where Jennifer is from and is a big Bama fan–Patrick is an Ohio State fan so Jen & I had a lot of fun teasing him about that 😉 Jen & Pat met through their work and through that work they traveled extensively. This became our theme for the wedding as this is at the heart of who they are and what they love. With our couple living out of state, full planning was the service for them as they needed boots on the ground and us to keep all their to dos in line. Most of Jennifer & Patrick’s friends and family were traveling for the wedding so welcoming them well to Birmingham and making sure things were easily accessible for the guests to do was very important. As always, our bride & groom & their guests enjoyed dinner, dancing and had a lot of fun. We hope you enjoy browsing their photos and sharing in the joy of their special day.

Laura & Scott’s Garden Southern Wedding

Laura & Scott’s Garden Southern Wedding

Laura & Scott were married on a beautiful, hot August day at Aldridge Gardens in Hoover,Alabama. We were lucky the rain (remember what rain is??) held off until just after they said their I dos. Laura & Scott had our wedding day management service so we were there to help make sure all the i’s were dotted and t’s were crossed so they could enjoy their day together. I am always a fan of color so this wedding planner’s heart just loved the blue/gray bridesmaids dresses. I also adore Laura’s dress–stunning right?! Surrounded by friends and family, they danced the night away. I am so glad we got to help Laura & Scott on their wedding planning journey and be part of their wedding day. Working with this vendor team was lovely & a huge shout out to Laura with Jett Walker Photography for these amazing images!

Jennifer + Daniel

Being Jennifer’s wedding planner was a true honor. Jennifer & I have known each other for about 9 years now as my in laws are best friends with her parents. Her parents threw Lee & I a wedding shower and attended any wedding party we had. I consider them part of our extended family. Jennifer & Daniel’s day was all about family and coming together to celebrate this wonderful union. Our wedding day management service was just what Jennifer needed to get her started, give her the tools to be successful while planning & then we came in to help tie up all the those ends and execute the big day. A special thanks to our associate planner Kendal for running the day!

Megan & Charlie’s classic, elegant, winter wedding

Megan & Charlie’s classic, elegant, winter wedding

This is hands down one of my favorite weddings to date. Megan was a dream bride—easy going, let her creative team dream up the details and do their thing, she trusted us 100% and is one of the funniest people I have ever met. She has now become a sweet friend and am so grateful for her. The thing I loved most about their wedding day was that Megan + Charlie just couldn’t wait to see each other and say I do. This day was about 7 years in the making so I think they were ready. With our full wedding planning service, we were able to help Megan stay on track with her planning tasks, create a design plan they were happy with, manage their budget and payments, recommend and book vendors, assist in hotel accommodations and transportation as we had lots of out of towners to welcome to Birmingham, work together on stationery design and paper details, and of course confirm all the details to create a beautiful day. Megan’s mom lives out of town so it helped them having a planner in town to be sure the i’s were dotted and the t’s were crossed. I mean they served yellow hammers as their signature drink–yall what is not more to love?! I loved working with the May & Flott families and I hope you enjoy scrolling through the pictures from one fantastic day!
